I have repelled down sheer cliffs, scuba dangerously close to a shark in the Great Barrier Reef, and hiked Mt. Washington in a freak storm that on a hot summer day left a vibrant double rainbow when the hail stopped. I always make an effort to read the book before the movie because you never know what you might be missing. Pictures speak a thousand words but knowledge learned independently is priceless. Travel I skip the standard tour and go right for the rough guide path less traveled. Tested all my luck eating fugu on New Years Eve in Tokyo. Skip the tourist shops and eat with the locals. I root for the underdog and stay loyal to my home team. Play devils advocate to get a conversation going with a passion. Volunteer for public radio/TV because I believe in the truth and public education. Cook a mean lasagna and would take a cooking class if they were held at reasonable hours. Love to cook for others but not for myself and happy to host a dinner party for friends/family. Waiting for the day Haymarket has exotic fruits. Until then I make the best with what I have and keep myself open for possibilities.
