I haven't updated in a while so here I go. I am a struggling filmmaker, still. For a year now I have been working on my craft and living as an artist, and trying not to be bourgeois about it. It has been difficult because you often don't get paid for being one, especially if you are trying to be an independent artist, break the mold, create something new. etc. etc. I live with mom who supports me in doing so, which I priviledged because of it.

My family crosses and intersects racialized boundaries. Trying to escape the Winter months, so hope to visit friends in Mexico, but get nostogic about childhood memories sitting on my Papa's lap, looking out the window down the gap, in Orangehill Barbados. He used to mash mangos and put sugar on it for dessert. Mame used to make bakes for breakfast. I haven't been back to the island in a while. My father escaped there, planting trees, and working the land. Even though a lot of my family has gone to Miami, so i might go there. Or maybe I will go to Brazil, since everyone thinks I from there anyway.

To challenge further, I am planning to go to the low-lands to meet my family without my mother as a buffer, learn Dutch to really blow people's minds. While prepping, learned of and was disturbed by the Zwarte Piet (Black Petes) helper of Sinterklaas, from my mom's account would take dutch children to the dreaded evil Spain, oh dear. What did i expect from a colonial power, anyway. Going to make my first feature, about my experience there. I want to make a radical travel show.
