I Would Describe Myself As

I am a semi-retired psychiatrist living and praacticing in San Francisco. My passion is travel and experiencing new cultures, but not on a tour bus. I'm particularly fond of islands, and own a small beachhouse in Fiji where I spend a month or two each year kayaking and scuba diving. It is the personal contacts that I enjoy most about traveling, and value the many friends I've made in countries around the world.

I consider myself a kind, good-natured, reasonable, non-judgmental person who can be depended on. Reliability is high on my list of desirable human characteristics. I enjoy a good belly laugh, and can laugh at myself when the situation warrants it.

I lost my 46 year-old wife two years ago after a 3 1/2 year battle with leukemia. Her absence has taught me how meaningless this world can be without someone to care about.
