A nice dinner and a good play. The dinner should not be rushed, giving plenty of time for the couple to talk about themselves and get to know each other. The man would be a Gentleman, that implies specific behaviours of respect and first thought for the woman. The woman defers to this and shows her appreciation for being so respected and considered. Yes there are forms that should be followed if a mature relationship is to develop.
