I Would Describe Myself As
I believe we humans have what it takes to expand our communication skills, making it possible to learn to manage our Emotional Triggers in ways that empower our relationships instead of damaging them. With expanded skills we can create more reciprocal, win-win relationships. And it's time we did! We're the top species of the planet, and we possess brilliant minds.
With our remarkable capacities, to act as beasts of the field is truly unworthy of us. But act as beasts we do. When it comes to our relationships, we still act like some of the animals with whom we have competed for survival. In fact, the relationships we build, world-wide, mimic those in place in a chicken yard: a pecking order with a few wealthy at the top, and many at the bottom living in inconceivable poverty.
The way we manage our Emotional Triggers is so ancient, and deeply embedded in our consciousness, that it's extremely difficult to awaken to two facts: 1) the exploitative way is causing us to destroy our environment [ourselves too], and 2) we can do something about it at last. This awareness does not come easily because we've been conditioned to this "fowl" force-ranking mindset over millions of years, and simply cannot imagine living a different way.
Chickens live in an “exploitative pecking order” relationship system, and so do we! But, is this our true destiny as the top species of earth?
I say it isn't! Sooooooo .... let's grow a little (grin), and have a great time doing it! Let's change that ancient relationship system by learning the communication skills of which we are now capable. We need two sets of skills, 1) those that help us cope with life as it is, and 2) those that transform our lives. We humans excell in coping with the chicken yard, but don't know how to transform it. Let's learn the second set of skills.
Would love to chat with you. If you're somewhat idealistic too, you will love getting acquainted with me.
